Spring 2017 Pre Travel Soccer Clinics and League

 Kindergarten and First Grade

The Soccer for Life Pre Travel Program provides Kindergarten and First Grade soccer players a chance to train and play in a true travel team practice setting.

Participants will be given the opportunity to develop foundational skill sets that will define their game for the rest of their soccer careers. Players will learn the importance of skill work, fitness, teamwork, communication, and fair play.

Players will reach their maximum potential as individuals and teammates through coaching, competition, training, commitment, sportsmanship, hard work and dedication.

Soccer for Life is dedicated to not only developing quality soccer players but quality individuals. SFL coaches will instill in the players the importance of hard work, commitment and goal setting while developing confidence, character and self-esteem along the way.

**Players will have the option to train weekly, play in a weekend game or both.

SFL will be holding a Pre Travel League on Sunday mornings to compliment the training during the week. Players can only sign up as individuals and will randomly be placed on a small sided team. Games will be played small sided at The Sport Academy in Millburn on Sunday mornings. Game times 9am or 10am.

Clinic Descriptions:

Kindergarten Program

Players will be put into structured practice settings resembling a professional training session they would experience on a travel soccer team. Sessions will focus on the development of individual ball and foot skills, moves, turns, communication words and rules of the game.

First Grade Program

Players will build upon fundamental foundational skill sets through technical development. Trainers will conduct technical and tactical sessions including dribbling, passing, shooting, receiving, heading, communication, formations, defensive techniques, etc.

Sunday Morning League

The league is co-ed and open to all Kindergarten and First graders. Players signing up will be strategically placed on teams consisting of around 5 to 6 players. Small sided games will be played on Sunday mornings outdoors at The Lower Pingry Elementary School in Short Hills. The games will give players an opportunity to practice and apply what they learned during their weekly training session. Soccer for Life will provide on the field coaching during the game, referees and provide game day jerseys for every player. The league will be constructed as non-competitive. Meaning - we will not keep scores of individual games and will not keep a total of wins and losses for the season. The league is strictly developmental..
